A slightly grey sky did little to dampen spirits as Northwick Group gathered for its annual Company Day at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday 6 June—proving that a great day out doesn’t rely on perfect weather.
The event was brilliantly attended, with colleagues coming together to enjoy a mix of racing, refreshments, and, of course, a few well-placed bets. As ever, there were some clear winners… and others who may be rethinking their betting strategies. More importantly, however, a great time was had by all—which is the result that really matters.
Kicking things off in style was the proudly sponsored Northwick Group Handicap, the first race of the day and one that quickly captured everyone’s attention. It was a closely contested race, building to a nail-biting finish, with Melissa Honey edging ahead in the final moments. The Northwick Management Team were delighted to present the trophy to the team behind Melissa Honey, marking a fantastic start to the day’s racing. The day rounded off in equally lively fashion with a 90s-themed disco, DJ’d by the one and only Chris Moyles. It was a fitting conclusion—featuring great music, plenty of laughter, and, naturally, a few questionable dance moves along the way.
A sincere thank you goes to the team at Doncaster Racecourse, whose organisation and hospitality ensured everything ran smoothly and helped make the day such a success.
All in all, it was a winning day for Northwick Group—on and off the track. Same time next year… and perhaps next time we’ll all back the winner.
